I was annoyed when I saw this video was 53 minutes long. But I'm totally glad I watched every second of it. That panel was extremely and much more informative than just visiting the site for the past 3 years has been for me. Can't friggin' wait for this game. I wonder what they consider Holiday 2011 to be. It could either be from black Friday all the way up to New Year's day or maybe just all of December, just gonna have to wait and see.

Hmm... It's like looking at the Blizzard devs right before WoW launched. Now look at them, they rule with an iron fist.

@ledis94 Wait you are not going to buy it why? A: It's not for sale on Steam, if you want to get it online you need EA's Orign.
B: Games tend to cost $50-60 even for single player ones.
C: This is an MMO has been a known fact for years that it was going to be and if you are worried about the monthly subscription fee $15 a month is the standard rate for this fee.

If what you are really wanting is KOTOR 3, this game will have the content equivalent of KOTOR 3-9 plus I am sure there will be expansions where they add new classes, races, full featured space, and more content for every character that is available at launch.

    They should've made a singleplayer
And to play the game online you will definitely have to pay at least 50$ on steam to get the game and thats why I aint gona buy it.

    @splincir
I wont lie Dragon age 2 was not up to the usual standard of Bioware but it was by no means a failure. game got an 8.0 or 7.5 if I remember correctly, but have hope because you really are getting KOTOR 3, 4, 5 ,6 ect. You by no means have to be involved in the MMO part of the game. You can solo all the way to your max level, see most of the planets and have you own epic conclusion after 100+ hours of story play per class. So in that sense it delivers to the fans on the series with more content then you can fathom. they have stayed true to the formula for the past kotors and given players their own personal ship so you feel right at home like kotor 1 an 2.

@jjfddf- Figures, so the "cool" ship element is basically garbage. I will probably buy it, give it a chance until somewhere around Lvl. 25 or so and then get bored form the endless grinding just like every other MMO. Unless the story element really keeps me hooked, not for me- just my opinion.

    Bioware doesn't disappoint? Really?

May I remind you of one thing. Dragon Age II.
Before that I really would have put more validity in your statements funtanas32. But in light of Biowares recent failures I have to color myself skeptical for the time being. I have played it and so far I'm not sure what I think. I was excited at first and felt let down when I was done with it. With a game of this scale and scope I will hold judgement until its release though. But for now IMO I'm worried. To amend what I wrote before I would add, I think that part of my disappointment stems from the fact that I want a true Kotor III. Part of what worries me I feel they're trying to do too much for too many people and in the process or trying to please the game will lose what made the originals great. meh...

all doubters and naysayers be ready to be proved wrong and blown away in the most general sense. I have tested the game and was present to play it at E3 and all I have to say it damn they made KOTOR 3,4,5,6,7,8 and shat on WOW's structure entirely. Its a joy to play and sucks you in and corrupts your soul just like WOW did in someways even better. The addition of story is an amazing change and is something your will require for future MMO's you purchase after playing TOR. your individual class storyline is its own unique animal that has unique 100+ hours story for each class. all the MMO content rides along and is open as you reach highter levels. Dont hate, just wait. your all in for a huge suprise as the hype is well deserved for this masterpice. Bioware does not dissapoint please remember this and its not cause im a fanboy its cause everysingle one of their games have been great.

The impression that I am getting thus far is that it is supposed to be the third Knights of the Old Republic, i.e. a single-player game - but the rewards from completing the player's own storyline yields rewards that would be useful in the actual MMO segments of the game.

In other words, The Old Republic seems like a hybrid MMORPG/single-player-RPG to me. Not that I have a problem with that.

Guild Wars 2 seems to be shaping up to be a good MMO, I'm glad there will be a choice of new MMOs to play between this year and the next.

As for the graphics... I don't get what the big deal is... While I can agree that TOR doesn't have the most stunning graphics of all time unlike some of the upcoming MMOs like Teria? I hope I spelt that right...Correct me if I'm wrong. I believe most people aren't running PCs with the capability of handling super out there graphics like having The Witcher 2 on the Very High setting or running Crysis 2 with DX11 on Ultra? So I guess you get the trade of... smoother gameplay, that can reach across many users. They need to take into account that the North American market is smaller than the Asian market where computers are more expensive to own because of the lower purchasing power of those nations. For instance a $1200 pc which would be pretty powerful would cost 7000 Malaysian dollars... You can check dell. Average starting income in Malaysia for a fresh Grad is between 2000 and 2800 Malaysian dollars. Thats between $700 and $950 USD. A month.

Having said all that... it's not a bad looking game by a long shot... but I agree it does have a cartoonish look... maybe if they had used the DA engine... however it seems like it could be a lot of fun...

As I said before, if you liked the game that's good, that means I respect yours and everybody else's opinions here. You are the one not listening and calling names. By the way you said if I didn't play the game I'd better shut up. Way to respect other's opinion right? If you want to garner attention for the game you like, next time don't say falsehoods. You just couldn't back up your arguments and no, those two things you said are not stupid technicalities. Sorry dude but I won't leave, as yourself I'm entitled to an opinion and you are the one offended by it. And don't be fooled by the thumbs up, people don't like someone criticizing a game they are hyped for. Just like yourself.

  • funtanas32

    Posted Jul 27, 2011 4:26 pm GMT

the only foreseeable problem with this game is the first month or so after release when they are overloaded with players and limited server space hence limited launch as they said. Bio-ware does not make bad games thats just a fact, not all may have liked dragon age but mass effect and kotor were some of the best rpg's ever made. the lowest rating they have gotten on a game here is 7.5 which is pretty good. Like I said before keep an open mind because your about to be blown away at launch.

    Posted Jul 27, 2011 2:20 pm GMT

@gizmofather i dont know if your being serious or not. if you are then that is pretty greedy of you. just because swtor graphics doesn't satisfy you means that they should make it better for your need. and that last statement doesn't apply to most people. its more like if they have enough money for this game then they dont have enough for a really good computer.

  • soccerpzn

    Posted Jul 27, 2011 2:14 pm GMT

@kaem79 i would have to agree with you but only reason dragon age 2 failed because they had to make enough money to make swtor and mass effect 3 so they had to put it on the market early to make the money. not a good a idea but they needed money to make this amazing game.

I have played original KOTOR games, and i can honestly say TOR looks like a pile of crap. every single aspect of the game looks garbage. im having a hard time believing why people even think this looks remotely good in anyway.

No man, you said " this game is the most innovative MMO ever filling every niche that players can want in an MMO". You didn't mean WoW fans. AND you said it is the most innovative mmo ever. So before telling people to shut up you should listen to what you are saying.
And if you know something about the game that hasn't been covered yet, please enlighten us, I'd be happy to know. Otherwise it looks like you got nothing on your hands and are bragging about the fact you beta-tested the game, which is funny.

    Posted Jul 27, 2011 8:49 am GMT

All I'm going to say regarding my opinion towards the game is I don't know how good it will be, but I will give it a try for sure and I'm hoping it's going to beat my best MMORPG experience so far.

Those who says this game sucks, well 99% of you haven't tried it yet and are just haters. Even if you tried it, you tried an unfinished demo. Cheers. And also, nice train conductor hat Mr. Reid...

why does this game still look like the old Kotor games?? anyone? these are just placeholder graphics until release date right? i mean this isnt really what i will be playing at the end of 2011 going into 2012 with my dual GTX 580's right? this is why companies should stop teasing games altogether.. Blizzard has been showing off diablo 3 since 2008 and the game still isnt released but yet.. the graphics still look like theyre from 2008.

suprisingly good won me over though by the looks of it im more interested in the single player which storywise looks fun shame its a MMO and the space fighting looked meh.

By the Force how many trollers already fighting the TOR? 10 ratings with 7.8 rating and the game is still TBA? o.O you can tell that maybe the played the Beta... even so beta is not the game..FSS!!

  • Cruisemissile

    Posted Jul 27, 2011 12:23 am GMT

Everyone who loves this game just ignore the trollers they obviously haven't seen any more than what is shown in this vid and have definitely not played the beta or tests, and just care about graphics not game play and have definitely never played the original Kotor games which where awesome
